
We Reserve The Right To Refuse Customer Service! You’ve seen that sign posted before, probably in a resuarant or something. Which is exactly what I want to talk about today. I normally cover more Internet Marketing tips on this blog, but today I want to cover owning a Storefront, but this will still apply to Internet Entrepreneurs as well.
Back when my wife and I first took over our Coffee Shop I had some rude awakenings. In the first month I had to kick out two people. One of them was an extreme pervert, to say the least…
Over that last few years, I have had to use our right to refuse customer service to a few people off and on. But, now I am faced with the opportunity to do it again…. Another pervert. He slipped away from me today, due to other customers I had to take care of. But it’s coming! Tomorrow should be the day where I have to use my right again.
So I want to talk to you, business owner to business owner…
We as business owners have a right to refuse customer service and we need to take that seriously and not be affraid to use it. Far too often we can let fear of conflict cause us to compromise our business standards, but this must stop. That business is our turf, not the customers!
I like what Yanik Silver says is one of the 34 Rules For Maverick Entrepreneurs. “When you are a Maverick Entrepreneur, the customer is NOT always right.”
So what if you lose customer! You are protecting your turf, your other customers and your future income.
Even if you don’t own a storefront and you are an Internet Entrepreneur, the principle still applies. You still have the right to say no, you still have the right to protect your business from so-called “customers” who are NOT always right.
We can’t let bad customers walk on us and disrespect us and our business just because we have bills to pay! We need to stand up for what is right and remember that we make the rules for our business!
So be affriade to use your right if you need to, your success just might depend on it.
