A few years ago my wife and I had the opportunity to buy a coffee shop at a very good price. My wife had previously worked there and knew how to run the place, so we quickly said “yes!” and within a week it was ours!
It was a crazy time in life because, that same month we took over the coffee shop, my wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. I can honestly say that I had no clue about the whirlwind of life I was about to be caught up into. All I knew was, I was going to make a LOT of money!
Well, it didn’t go as expected and money was tight. We had brought in more customers than the previous owners and people seemed to love the place, but the profits still wasn’t where is needed to be.
While my wife took on many of the responsibilities at the shop, I was at home with my new baby learning Internet Marketing and trying to get a Network Marketing business off the ground….
To make a long story short, I never gave up on the thought that the Internet was the way to go to grow my businesses, both offline and online. I quit all of the Network Marketing stuff and focused on growing my own Internet business while my wife and I still struggled to really get the coffee shop where we wanted it.
It seemed like every time things started getting better, something would happen…
A refrigerator would break, the air conditioning unit would stop working or we would have employee issues, it was always something…. I even had to kick multiple weirdos out of my shop!
To be honest with you, I had learned a TON about Internet Marketing over those years, but there was still a disconnect in my mind as to how I could really use the Internet to help make money with my Store Front.
I had already built a pretty cool looking web site for the shop, but didn’t really get a lot of traffic with it. In the mean time, I had joined the Social Media Revolution with all the Online stuff I had been doing. I was using Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and LinkedIn to grow my Online business and things were going well, but I couldn’t figure out how to get those kinds of tools to work for my coffee shop.
