If you are new to Twitter, you may have heard the term Re-Tweet. Or maybe you have seen a Tweet that someone else has sent out that started with RT in front of it…
A “RT” or Re-Tweet is a very cool feature that Twitter offers that allows you to tweet something that showed up on your Twitter stream to all of your Twitter followers.
There are three important things to think about when it comes to Retweets…
1. It’s a way to get different people who are authorities in your niche attention. By Retweeting their Tweets, you will pop up on their radar.
2. You can also measure the quality of Tweets you are sending out by watching how many people Retweet you. If you are Tweeting value, people will most likely Retweet you.
3. When people Re-Tweet you, you stand a good chance of gaining new followers, since you are being Tweeted to a whole bunch of people who aren’t already following you. – So try to always Tweet things that offer value.
Remember, we are using Twitter strategically… So it’s important to always have a purpose with every Tweet you send out.
I personally like to test things out. I test different Tweets out to see which ones get a better response. Once I know which people like better, I can do more of those.
It’s also interesting to see the different responses in different Industries and Niches.
So be sure to take advantage of the Re-Tweet feature and reap the rewards on using Twitter Strategically!
